RMD was appointed as the Special Adviser of Culture and Tourism to Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan in 2008, then became the commissioner for the Culture and Tourism of Delta Statefrom 2009 to 2015.

Mercy Johnson- Okojie
A phenomenal actress, wife, and mother of three, Mercy Johnson Okojie. Mercy became part of the political class in 2017 when she was appointed as the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello on entertainment, arts and culture. Mercy embodies that saying that ” one can do anything as long as they are willing to put in the work”. She is one of the actresses that did not study Theatre Arts in school, but is right up there rubbing shoulders with people who has classical training.
Okechukwu Anthony Oyegbule popularly known as Okey Bakassi, a comedian and Nollywood actor. He also answered the call to serve his people, as he joined the governor of Imo State, Ikedi Ohakim as a Senior Special Assistant. At that time, he obviously dropped everything that had to do with entertainment and he put in his best, the very best of himself to make it worth it. However, the re-election bid was not successful although that is not to say that is the end of political ambitions for the multi-talented entertainer.
Actor, Filmmaker and son to internationally recognized veteran actor ,Pete Edochie. In 2017, Yul Edochie surprised everyone when he announced that he had joined the Anambra State Gubernatorial race. He took to his Instagram to state that Nigerians need a brand of leaders who will put the masses first because the older ones have failed for too long, hammering that they have come to their last bus stop. You could call Yul some sort of activist as he often takes to his social media pages to call out the government on its political and governance errors….and he does it without mincing words.
Kate Henshaw is another talented veteran Nollywood actor that had a surprising romance with politics. In 2014, she contested to represent Calabar South Federal Constituency under the plarform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which she lost. Months after the unsuccessful run for the ticket to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives, she was appointed as a Special Adviser to the Cross River State governor, Ben Ayade. She is now the Special Adviser-Liaison, Lagos.
Desmond Elliot is also one of the actors that joined politics in 2014. He joined the All Progressives Congress and ran for a seat after one year, in the Lagos State House of Assembly. Not so many people believed that Desmond Elliot could pull that off, as a lot of people were expecting him to probably fail as it was his first time around. However, he won and was sworn in as a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Surulere 01 constituency.
